STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY:

My stock includes about 20,000 images, about half of which feature reptiles and amphibians. These are available as 50Mb scans from film (Fuji Velvia) in most cases. Original transparencies can be supplied if necessary although I like to avoid this wherever necessary.
Increasingly, I now supply optimised digital images from a camera, comprising tif or jpeg files of any size up to 36Mb without interpolation.

WRITING:
I can supply photographs, captions, extended captions or whole books if required.
AGENCIES:
If you prefer to buy stock photography through the internet, you can find some of my images at AGE Fotostock, Alamy, FLPA and NHPA.
PHOTO TOURS:

I run several nature photography tours each year, in collaboration with my colleague, Nick Garbutt. At present we have tours to Sri Lanka, Madagascar and Borneo in place, with Namibia and Chile in the planning stages. We also run a week long workshop on the island of Mull Scotland, durig the second week of June each year. For more detailed information, please contact me directly.

TALKS AND LECTURES:
I give talks to Nature Groups and Photographic Societies and have lectured in Holland, Sweden, Finland and the United States. Local talks are priced according to distance travelled.
WORKSHOPS:
I give occasional workshops, usually in the Peak District, on close-up nature photography. Workshops can also be arranged 'to order' in other parts of the country. These can be on a one-to-one basis or for small groups of friends, members of camera clubs, etc. I can cover subjects such as close-up nature photography, composition, and flash, and days or weekends can often be tailored to your requirements. Please enquire.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
The following firms have all provided good service over the years and I am pleased to recommend them. I have no commercial links with any of them.
Administered by Robert Scott Publishing. As well as producing an excellent magazine for Canon users, this organisation provides its readership with first class help, and advice with technical queries. They also publish a variety of professional booklets and magazines for Canon and administer the Canon Professional Service (CPS) in the UK.
Supplier of a variety of professional equipment, including Gitzo tripods and Arca-Swiss heads, among others. Always competetively priced and extremely helpful.
Supplier of camera consumables, including film, batteries, memory cards, etc. Order online or talk to a human on the telephone for a friendly, lightening-fast service.
LowePro back-packs are the best there are, in my opinion. Another excellent company who listens to its users. The UK distributor, DayMan International, provides first class customer service.

HELP AND ADVICE:
For anyone hoping to become a freelance nature photographer, I can recommend John Shaw's book "The Business of Nature Photography", published by Amphoto. The same author has also written benchmark books on the techniques of Nature, Landscape and Close-up Photography.
